God is always looking for someone to stand in the gap for others. It is a great gift for one to give themselves to be pleading with God on behalf of others. Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. It is not easy to intercede for people and to plead with God to show them mercy because many times they may not even deserve that mercy. It may be that they even sinned & rejected God but God who is rich in mercy can still come through for them when we cry to HIM for help on their behalf. Though the Canaanite woman was not an Israelite, JESUS delivered her daughter because she persistently pleaded with HIM for mercy. Nothing is too hard for our God. Let's give ourselves to stand in the gap for others, even those who seemingly don't deserve mercy from our God.
Matthew
15:22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord,
Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering
terribly." 23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him
and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." 24
He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." 25 The
woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. 26 He
replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the
dogs." 27 "Yes it is, Lord," she said. "Even the dogs eat
the crumbs that fall from their master's table." 28 Then Jesus said to
her, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her
daughter was healed at that moment.
Halleluyah.
Stand in
the gap. Someone will be delivered.
